What Georgia Families 360° is
Georgia Families 360° (you'll hear "GF360," "360," or just "the plan") is the single statewide Medicaid managed-care plan for children in DFCS foster care custody. One plan, one care management organization (CMO), the whole state — there is no plan-shopping and no county variation to figure out. The child's physical health, behavioral health, and medications all run through it. Verified Jul 2, 2026 · medicaid.georgia.gov
The state's GF360° page describes its intake line as serving foster and adoptive parents, caregivers, providers and members — so if you're kinship or pre-adoptive, this is your plan too. Verified Jul 2, 2026
How many kids are on it? Two official-ish numbers.
The state program page says about 27,000 members; 2025–26 news coverage of the contract fight says about 33,000. We haven't gotten DCH to confirm which is current, so we publish both with dates rather than pick one. Confirmation pending with DCH
Who runs it today: Amerigroup
As of our last check, GF360° is administered by Amerigroup Community Care — the same CMO that has run it for years. Your child's ID card, the member portal, and the phone numbers on this page are all Amerigroup's. Checked Jul 2, 2026
Heads up: Georgia's foster care health plan is changing hands — slowly.
Georgia Families 360° is still run by Amerigroup today. The state awarded the next contract to UnitedHealthcare, but the switch has been delayed repeatedly — latest reporting extends the current insurers into 2027. That "into 2027" extension comes from a single news report so far, which is exactly why we re-check this monthly — see the current status before you rely on plan details. Checked Jul 2, 2026
What the handoff will mean for you, whenever it lands: new ID cards, new phone numbers, and a re-check of whether your child's providers are in the new network. Nothing about the child's eligibility changes — kids in DFCS custody stay covered. It's the plumbing that changes.
The phone numbers (with expiration warnings)
| Number | What it is | Verified |
|---|---|---|
| 1-855-661-2021 | GF360° Member Intake Line, 24/7 — Amerigroup's currently published number. New-placement Medicaid questions, member ID, pharmacy issues. | Jul 2, 2026 |
| (404) 387-9706 | Older 24/7 intake line still shown on the state's GF360° page; appears mostly in older documents. Test-dial pending — treat as backup only. | Test call pending |
These are Amerigroup-era numbers — they will change when the transition lands.
Both numbers belong to the current administration of the plan. When the CMO handoff finally happens, expect them to stop working with little ceremony. If a number fails, call your case manager — they always know the current plan contact, and Medicaid coverage itself doesn't lapse just because a phone line moved. (Our caseworker quick-reference carries the same warning.)
Day one at placement
The one fact that makes day one manageable: every child in DFCS foster care custody is enrolled in GF360° — it's the single plan for that population, so there is no application for you to file and no open-enrollment window to miss. Your job is not to get the child covered; it's to get the member ID into your hands. Verified Jul 2, 2026 · medicaid.georgia.gov
Not yet verified: how fast coverage attaches, and whether it's retroactive.
Foster parents often report that coverage reaches back to the date the child entered custody, so early appointments get covered even if the paperwork lagged. We have not found an official source that states this, so we won't publish it as a rule. It's on our verification list with Georgia Medicaid. Until then: don't delay care over a missing card — call the intake line or your case manager and ask them to confirm the child's coverage status directly.
Survival habits (practice, not policy)
Everything in this box is community practice from experienced foster parents — habits, not policy citations. No vtags here because there's no rule to verify; there's just what saves you grief at 8pm at a pharmacy counter.
The habits that pay off
From foster parents who've done this a while- Put the child's Medicaid / member ID number in your phone the day they arrive — not on the fridge, not in the placement folder. Pharmacies and front desks ask for it constantly.
- Before the first pharmacy run, ask the case manager for the member ID (and the physical card's timeline). A new placement often arrives ahead of their card, and the pharmacy can usually process with the number alone.
- If a pharmacy claim rejects at placement, don't argue at the counter — step aside and call the intake line (above) or the case manager. It's almost always an ID or plan-assignment lag, not a coverage denial.
- Save the intake line under a name you'll find in a hurry ("360 Medicaid"), and note next to it: if disconnected, call case manager.
Dental and vision: ask, don't assume.
We have not yet verified from an official source exactly how dental and vision are delivered under GF360° (directly, or through subcontracted benefit managers with their own provider lists). Treat both as questions to ask on your first intake-line call: "Who handles dental and vision for this member, and how do I find an in-network provider?" We'll publish the answer here once it's sourced.
Finding a therapist who takes 360°
Honest status: this section is a stub, because we won't publish a provider-search walkthrough we haven't verified against the current network tools — especially not during a CMO transition, when network lists are exactly the thing most likely to churn.
Provider-network verification is pending.
Amerigroup's materials describe care-coordination support for GF360° members, but we haven't verified from an official source how that team is structured or reached, so we're not publishing steps yet. What works today: call the member intake line (1-855-661-2021 Jul 2, 2026) and ask to be connected with the child's care coordination team for help finding a behavioral health provider — and ask your case manager the same question in parallel. When we've verified the network-search path, this section becomes a real walkthrough.
If the need is a crisis rather than a waitlist: call 988 / GCAL — Georgia's 24/7 mental health crisis line, which can dispatch a mobile crisis team to your home. That path does not depend on the Medicaid plan at all, and it never changes with a contract. Verified Jul 2, 2026
When a number on this page stops working
This page exists because a health plan mid-transition sheds phone numbers. The ladder, in order:
- Call your case manager. They always know the current plan contact — this is the step that never expires.
- Check the state's GF360° page at medicaid.georgia.gov — whatever CMO is listed there is the current administrator.
- Tell us via report a broken listing, so the next family doesn't dial a dead line.
And if it's a mental health emergency while you're sorting out phone trees: 988 / GCAL, any hour.

This page summarizes a health plan in plain language and is not medical advice. It's also the most change-prone page on this site: if today is meaningfully past our verified date, confirm the administrator and phone numbers at medicaid.georgia.gov or with your case manager before relying on them.
